Can you travel to our destination wedding?

Absolutely! I am a frequent traveler and -once again- my super power is adaptability to any situation. I have shot weddings in Portuguese vineyards in the Douro Valley, palaces in Porto, historic castles and farms in Germany, courthouses and historic churches in Spain, windmills on the Greek islands, tropical forests in Brazil – you name it! There is no “one guide fits all” for me, I always keep my eyes peeled for the best lighting and my experience has taught me to be extremely fast and efficient when scouting for the best spots in a new venue.

What does it mean to have more than one base (Portugal)? How does it work?

Porto, Portugal is my primary location. However, throught the year I frequently travel to other locations that I consider my secondary bases. Having more than one base means that I do not charge travel fees for events within a ratio of 45kms from these locations:

  • Porto, Portugal
  • Athens and Thrace region, Greece
  • Brussels, Belgium
  • Maastricht, Netherlands

That means that if you hire me for your destination wedding in, let’s say somewhere in the Netherlands, the travel fees will be calculated from the distance of the nearest base, in which case, Maastricht.

In what manner do you shoot during the wedding day?

My approach is all about respecting the natural flow of your day. I aim to be present without being disruptive—never an obstacle or distraction. That said, I don’t make myself completely invisible either. There are key moments, such as during preparations, group photos, or the couple’s sunset session, where gentle guidance is needed to ensure everything looks and feels its best. This direction is always offered in a discreet, professional, and kind manner, with your comfort and wishes as the top priority. For example, I might let you know when the light outside is especially beautiful or suggest the best location for group shots—but the final decision is always yours.

How would you describe your style?

My style is a blend of documentary and editorial – with a focus on real moments, natural light, and honest emotion. I aim to capture your day as it unfolds, preserving not just how it looked, but how it felt. You’ll find a mix of candid, storytelling imagery and beautifully composed portraits that still feel effortless and genuine. I strive for a timeless aesthetic: warm, soft tones, clean compositions, and an overall feeling of intimacy and authenticity. My goal is to create images that reflect you – your connection, your energy, your story.

We always feel awkward in front of the camera / we’ve never had a photoshoot before / what should I do with my hands?! How will you pose / guide us?

Being in front of the camera can feel intimidating but I want you to trust me when I say that I am going to help you NAIL this! I always start with a bit of warm-up and you will be given simple prompts every single moment so there is absolutely nothing to worry about. Most of my prompts are simple and require some kind of movement and interaction. No stiff / still / awkward posing will be used and no preparation from your end is needed. I have an endless list of prompts that is adjusted to your personality and what feels right at the moment -again, adaptability as a superpower 😉 – .

Can we have access to the RAW/original files and footage?

The short answer is no. RAW files and unedited footage are just the starting point of a much longer process—one that involves careful selection, thoughtful curation, post-production, and fine-tuning. The final product you receive is something I’ve crafted with care, attention, and love, ensuring it reflects the full vision and quality you deserve.

Can you deliver faster?

In my pricing guide, there is the option of “express gallery delivery” in which your photos will be delivered within a week from the wedding date, for a fee.

Can you edit differently?

Over the years, I’ve carefully developed a signature editing and color grading style that reflects my artistic vision and ensures consistency across every gallery I deliver. For that reason, I do not offer alternative editing styles—it’s important to me that the final images remain true to the look and feel that defines my work and what clients expect when booking me.

How long in advance should we book you?

1-2 years in advance is the recommended period if you want to make sure your date is secured.

What is the turn-around time for our gallery and videos?

Photo galleries are delivered within 3 months from the wedding date and videos within 7 months.

We do not want our photos to be part of your portfolio. What can we do about that?

With every wedding we book, we automatically renew our portfolio. This helps other people like you find us, build trust and showcase consistency and evolution. If you prefer that your photos are excluded from our portfolio, you can do so for a fee, during the booking process.

What equipment do you use?

My team and I work with top-of-the-line professional equipment and everything that comes with it. Have you seen those viral videos where one camera stops working right before the couple’s entrance to the ceremony? Yep! We always work with one camera on each shoulder and sometimes a third one as a double backup in our bag. We are not taking any chances on your important day and prevention is the best medicine!

Do you offer video services?

Yes, I have a fantastic team of videographers working with me while I am the one taking care of the guidance and quality control of post-production. You can book your video with us (KrystaPhotos + Films) or hire an independent team of cinematographers. In order to ensure that the flow of the day is running smoothly, we require exclusivity if you decide to book with us for either of the services: That means that no other professional photography (if you hire KrystaPhotos) or videography team (if you hire KrystaPhotos+Films) can be hired to shoot the day at the same time with us.

Do you use flash or other lighting equipment?

Absolutely! A photographer’s true superpower is the ability to adapt to any lighting conditions in the moment. While I love working with natural light whenever possible, I’m fully equipped and ready to take control when the available light isn’t ideal. Even when using artificial lighting, I always strive to maintain a natural and authentic look.

What happens if you become sick/unable to shoot our wedding?

In the unlikely event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding due to illness or an emergency, I will personally ensure a trusted replacement is found through my extensive network in each of the locations where I’m based. You won’t need to worry about a thing—I’ll handle all the arrangements to make sure your experience and final results meet the high standards you expect from KrystaPhotos. Even if I’m not behind the camera on the day, the brand you hired (KrystaPhotos) and the quality it represents – remains the same.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Please note that cancellations or refunds will not be issued if the client chooses to withdraw from our agreement. However, if you need to reschedule your wedding due to extraordinary circumstances, I will be happy to discuss the possibility of transferring your deposit to a new date—provided it falls within a specific timeframe in which I or a member of my team is available. If a new agreement cannot be reached, all fees paid to date will be forfeited.
