A few notes from someone who has photographed many wedding mornings:

• Hotel bathrobes rarely elevate your photos. They tend to look bulky, shapeless and lack character.
• Very cheap-looking white “Bride” robes can sometimes feel costume-like rather than chic.
• Large visible logos distract from your face and from the emotional storytelling.
• Also, as comfortable as they may be, everyday pyjamas are usually not the best choice for your bridal prep outfit. They tend to look too casual and unintentional in photos, and they rarely elevate the storytelling of your bride preparation for wedding moments.

And anything overly tight that leaves strong marks on your skin is something to reconsider.

A few simple bride preparation tips that make a huge difference:

• If your wedding dress has an open back or delicate straps, remove your bra at least 30 minutes before putting your dress on. This allows any marks on your skin to fade before you walk down the aisle.
• Keep your space tidy. A clean room creates cleaner, more refined bridal prep photos. Designate one small corner for bags and clutter. It changes everything visually.

There isn’t one rule for what a bride preparation outfit should look like. There isn’t one color, one fabric, or one acceptable version of bridal. If you wanna go all black, go all black! You do you!!!
